Building People Power in 2025: A New Year, A Renewed Fight!
As we step into 2025, we extend our warmest wishes for a year of resilience, solidarity, and transformative change. All things considered, we know that the road ahead is challenging, with the corporate takeover of our political system continuing to erode the very foundations of people-centered governance. The specter of Insurrection 2.0 has cast a long shadow, but it only reinforces the urgency of our mission: to fight for a democracy that truly serves We the People.
There’s good news on the horizon. We’re thrilled to announce that Rep. Pramila Jayapal will once again champion the We the People Amendment as it is reintroduced in the 119th Congress. This critical legislation aims to end the corrupting influence of corporate money and political privilege, restoring power to everyday people. Together, we’re building a movement that cannot be ignored.
To kick off this renewed effort, we invite you to join our Take-Action Training on January 13, marking the lead-up to the infamous 15th anniversary of the Citizens United decision. This training is designed to empower you with the talking points, materials, and strategies needed to make an impact in your district.
Imagine this: citizens across the country, armed with knowledge and courage, peacefully and civilly 'storming' their congressional offices—not with anger, but with demands for justice and accountability. Let’s make it clear to Congress: our representatives must answer to us, not the billionaires and corporate interests.
This is our year to push back against corporate rule, amplify people power, and bring us closer to a future where our voices—not the dollars of the few—shape our nation.

This month, we’re celebrating the amazing work of our affiliates! The Greater Dayton team secured a new endorsement from Gem City DSA, hosted a team social, and launched 2025 with a powerful email blast. Meanwhile, the Miami County group presented on Citizens United, grew their petition, and created a stunning booklet highlighting their journey. Plus, a special shoutout to Minnesota for their state-level lobbying efforts with plans to expand into Montana. 💪
