Affiliate Spotlight: Celebrating Local Action and Impact

In this month’s Affiliate Spotlight, we’re thrilled to highlight the incredible work being done by our affiliates across the country. Their dedication and creativity inspire us all to continue building a people-powered movement for systemic change.

Greater Dayton Move to Amend Affiliate Group

The Greater Dayton Move to Amend team has started the year with remarkable momentum! They recently secured a new organizational endorsement from the Dayton-Miami Valley Democratic Socialists of America (Gem City DSA). This endorsement is a testament to their effective outreach and commitment to coalition-building in the region.

In addition to their advocacy, the group also prioritized community and team-building with a social gathering planned by affiliate member Jean Burdeshaw. To top it all off, they kicked off 2025 with an inspiring email blast to engage their supporters and outline their vision for the year ahead. Kudos to the Greater Dayton team for their well-rounded approach to advocacy, community, and communication!

Move to Amend Miami County, Ohio Affiliate Group

The Miami County affiliate wrapped up 2024 with quiet but meaningful efforts that set the stage for growth in 2025. In November, they presented an engaging program on the Citizens United decision and the need for the We the People Amendment at a home party hosted by Darke County Democrats. This thoughtful event brought in new petition signatures and raised awareness among local citizens.

In December, the group hosted a casual social gathering to celebrate their 2024 accomplishments and strengthen team morale. One highlight was their creation of a 12-page booklet, beautifully designed to showcase their journey from an ad hoc working group to a thriving affiliate. Packed with stories and pictures, this booklet serves as both a morale booster for the core group and a powerful recruiting tool for new volunteers. Amazing work, Miami County!

Minnesota State Network

We also want to give a special mention to the Minnesota State network for their impressive lobbying efforts at the state legislature. They’ve been working diligently to advocate for the We the People Amendment and are exploring ways to replicate their success in Montana. Stay tuned for more updates as their plans take shape—this work could be a blueprint for building grassroots power across state lines.

Congratulations to all our affiliates for their accomplishments! Your dedication is what keeps this movement alive and growing. Let’s keep the momentum going in 2025!
