🏛️ Congressional update:
Big news from Capitol Hill!
We’re thrilled to welcome Representative Maggie Goodlander (NH-2) as the newest co-sponsor of the We the People Amendment (H.J.R. 54)!

Rep. Goodlander officially joined us on August 15, adding her voice to the growing chorus of leaders committed to ending corporate personal rights and taking big money out of politics.
And the momentum doesn’t stop there—Pramila Jayapal's office has let us know another co-sponsor is on the horizon! While we’re keeping their name under wraps for now, it’s safe to say we’re on track to reach more supporters soon in the 119th Congressional Session. Every new co-sponsor strengthens the movement and brings us closer to realizing the vision of a government truly accountable to the people.
Your voice matters, too. Whether you’re just getting started or you’re a seasoned advocate, your outreach to friends, family, and representatives is key to keeping this energy going.

September 8th - Shaker Heights Democracy Day
Move to Amend is proud to support the Shaker Heights Democracy Day Public Hearing on September 8, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Shaker Heights City Council (3400 Lee Rd, Shaker Hts, OH 44120).
This biannual event is an essential part of Shaker Heights’ fight for a 28th amendment to the U.S. Constitution, asserting that only human beings, not corporations, have constitutional rights and that money should not be equated with speech.

Since 2016, Shaker Heights has held public hearings to discuss the corrupting influence of corporate power and big money in politics. This year marks the fifth Democracy Day, where community members will have a chance to speak on these crucial issues. City Council will then send letters to our Congressperson and Senator, urging them to pass a 28th amendment.
If you are able to, please join us in supporting the fight for a democracy free from corporate control. To attend or speak at the hearing, RSVP below!

Hosted by Move to Amend’s Ecology Network, a space for people committed to ending corporate-driven environmental destruction and building alternatives for a livable world.
