Three Events, One Powerful Message
Our nation stands at a crossroads, where corporations, courts, and Congress have collectively paved the way for an era where the rights of corporations and the super-rich seem to overshadow the will of We the People. But we won't stand idle. Together, we are organizing three remarkable events, each targeting one of the institutions that have perpetuated this injustice.
1. Rally at U.S. Chamber of Commerce Date: Tuesday, September 19 Time: 10:00 am - 11:00 am (gather at 9:30 am) Location: U.S. Chamber of Commerce, 1615 H St NW
Join us in front of the Chamber for inspiring speeches, chants, and a call to enact HJR54, the We the People Amendment. We will also deliver a letter declaring the illegitimacy of the Chamber and all corporations as legal "persons" that can lobby, invest money in elections, and overturn democratically passed laws.
2. Rally at U.S. Supreme Court Date: Wednesday, September 20 Time: 10:00 am - 11:00 am (gather at 9:30 am) Location: U.S. Supreme Court, One First Street, NE
Stand with us in front of the Supreme Court as we raise our voices for justice. We'll delve into how the Supreme Court has wrongly extended the Bill of Rights and 14th Amendment, originally intended for human beings, to apply to corporate entities. Together, we'll call for the enactment of HJR54 to end corporate personhood and the idea that money is speech.
3. Lobbying for Change: Following both events, we invite you to join Move to Amend in lobbying members of Congress to advocate for the co-sponsorship of HJR54. It's time to take our message directly to those who can make a difference.
