Celebrating the wins, reflecting on the challenges, and how to be part of the change.

As we usher in the dawn of 2024, we can't help but look back at the extraordinary year that was – a year of victories, milestones, and collective accomplishments that were made possible because of your unwavering dedication to the cause. Move to Amend's mission, fueled by grassroots efforts and supported by advocates like you, took a giant leap forward in 2023.

Our Prized Achievement: We the People Amendment HJR54

A significant highlight of the year was the introduction of the We the People Amendment (HJR54) in the House of Representatives. This groundbreaking initiative, now supported by an impressive 75 co-sponsors as of December 27, 2023, signifies a crucial step toward countering political corruption and challenging the corporate hijacking of our constitutional rights.

Growing Momentum: Unprecedented Support and Recognition

Your collective voice, demonstrated through our national Motion to Amend petition, gained momentum with an impressive 494,000 signatures. Organizations endorsing our cause reached 753, while 701 local communities and 8 states declared their opposition to the notion that money equates to free speech and that corporations are people.

The ripple effect extended to media outlets like Common Dreams and OpEd news, where Move to Amend published insightful articles, sparking conversations that resonate nationwide.

Spreading the Message: From Coast to Coast

Move to Amend didn't just stop at legislation; we took our message to the people. Through engaging video presentations and podcast interviews, we reached groups in California, New Hampshire, Ohio, New York, and Pennsylvania. Panel presentations at prestigious events such as the Veterans for Peace annual convention and the Next System Studies Conference showcased our commitment to building a movement from the ground up.

Boots on the Ground: Advocacy and Action

From the national Stop Fossil Fuels march in New York City to a Constitution Day event in Brooklyn, we took to the streets, publicly denouncing corporate rule and the influence of big money in elections. Lobbying on Capitol Hill, we tirelessly urged Congressional Representatives to cosponsor HJR54, ensuring our message reverberated within the very halls of power.

Educate, Empower, Act: Online Programs and Initiatives

Move to Amend continued to empower change through online educational and training programs. Initiatives like the Stop Cop City movement in Atlanta, discussions on Gaveling Down the Rabble, and projects promoting laws to reduce corporate power and expand democracy underscore our commitment to equipping our supporters with the tools they need to make a difference.
