We have a perfect vision for 2020--and a Senate Lead!

Successful movements in history won because they knew a variety of tactics were necessary to force change. Move to Amend recognizes that we stand on the shoulders of giants as we work to deepen and diversify our tactics going into 2020.

We have VERY exciting plans and we need your support to blow them out of the water -- make an end of year donation today to ensure we can accomplish all of our 2020 goals!

Here's a rundown of some of the things we have cooking...

1. Political organizing

Just like last year, we are closing out by exceeding our strategic plan goals for HJR48 support in the House (67 cosponsors!!). But unlike last year, we can boast that in 2020, the #WeThePeopleAmendment will be in both houses of Congress! That's right we have a Senate champion lined up for next year! We still have work to do organizing other senators, so please be making your phone calls.

Our 2020 Pledge to Amend Campaign is already underway, because we wanted to have enough time to get all of the candidates and primary challengers on record regarding their support for the #WeThePeopleAmendment. The priority this year is Congress, given the moment we are in -- but we want every candidate on record, from the POTUS to the local dogcatcher. NO ONE IS OFF THE HOOK! Get your candidates to take the pledge!

2. Direct Action

"Nonviolent direct action seeks to create such a crisis and establish such creative tension that a community that has consistently refused to negotiate is forced to confront the issue."
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

We set the tone in May with our successful Free the People National Day of Action -- rallies and meetings all over the country at congressional offices -- increasing support for the #WeThePeopleAmendment and propelling us to our most successful year in the House.

But this is no time to rest on our laurels. To keep this momentum, we must escalate. So on January 21st -- the 10-year anniversary of the Citizens United decision -- we will have another national day of action: #J21. Our rallies in May and DC Lobby Day in June netted a good chunk of congressional support, we are taking it to the next level with civil disobedience -- sit-ins at congressional offices all over the U.S. to make it clear to our elected officials that we are here and we are not going away.

But in order to pull this off, we need to end the year in the black. Our end of year fundraising goal is $150,000, and we are currently at $25,286. Please make your end of year donation today to ensure we are in good shape to hit the ground running in 2020.

But that's not all we have planned.

3. Presence at both the Republican and Democratic National Committees

It's a presidential election year, and the hub of political activity will be at the party conventions. Move to Amend will be there! These are incredible opportunities for public education, direct action, and building more capacity in our movement.

4. A strong presence in Washington D.C. all year

While our ultimate goal is to have a D.C. office, we aren't there yet. We will need to make multiple transcontinental trips next year to keep the momentum up. Please make a generous end of year donation today to help us with these expenses so we can push harder than ever in 2020!

Thank you SO MUCH for all you have done to help us advance the game in 2019. Whether that was talking to your friends and family, getting them to sign the petition, sharing social media posts, volunteering locally, or donating - we appreciate the role you've played in this movement. We also invite you to deepen that role in 2020.

Happy holidays and solidarity,

Barbara, Jason, Tara, Joni, George, Leila, Saleem, Daniel, Jessica, Greg, Keyan, Ambrosia, Shelly, Alfonso, Milly and Kaitlin
