Thank you for an amazing year and for the last decade!

As we reflect back on this incredible year (and decade!), we want to say thank you for all of the ways you support this movement -- whether it was by gathering petition signatures, educating your friends and family about corporate personhood, organizing a local Move to Amend group, or through financial support... we are really starting to break down the barriers, and we couldn't have done it without ALL of you.

So THANK YOU for your part!

In terms of our progress in Congress -- we could not be more well-positioned for 2020 -- closing out 2019 by exceeding our strategic plan goal of 65 cosponsors in the House of Representatives, and starting off the New Year with an introduction into the Senate.

That's right -- the #WeThePeopleAmendment will be in BOTH houses in 2020!!!! (more to come on the specifics of this in the new year!)

Our strategy and tactics have shifted and developed quite a bit in 2019, necessitated by this political moment that we are in.

We've always believed that direct action is an integral part of any successful movement -- if our elected representatives aren't listening, then we have to raise our voices!

So in May, we held our very successful #FreeThePeople National Day of Action, where groups all over the US met with and held rallies at their Representatives' offices, urging support for the #WeThePeopleAmendment.

Then there was Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. in June, where folks from every corner of the country came to learn and develop their organizing and direct action skills, got to hear from our House champion Rep. Pramila Jayapal, followed by a Lobby Day, where Move to Amend folks took over the halls of Congress -- and further grew our cosponsorship numbers for the #WeThePeopleAmendment!

A highlight for us was our Party of the Decade just last month in Berkeley, CA... not only was it super fun, and not only did we blow our fundraising goal out of the water, but we asked a roomful of people, who would be willing to get arrested in a sit-in for the We the People Amendment?

We were so psyched to see so many people enthusiastically sign up to do this! Many were grandparents, retirees...folks who know that we are in a critical moment and it's time to take it to the next level. We love how intergenerational our movement to amend is!

The energy that is building for the #WeThePeopleAmendment is incredible, made all the more astounding by the incessant distractions of this current administration on Congress -- yet somehow we have never been more powerful or optimistic about our ability to win this thing!

So again -- THANK YOU ALL, for your part -- no matter how big or small. This grassroots movement is powered by every conversation, every social media share, every signature gathered, every dollar donated...

Thank you for being in it with us this far!

Onward!
