What Would the U.S. Constitution Look Like If We Wrote it Today

 
 

On Oct. 24 and 25th 2020,  A Radical Guide partnered with Move to Amend (MTA), Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund (CELDF), Liberty Tree Foundation for the Democratic Revolution, and Pachamama Alliance, to take Time to Reimagine the U.S. Constitution.

This was a two-day online event to come together to imagine what a constitutional renewal could look like in the United States.  

Using the People’s Movement Assembly Process, we explored how to make decisions for collective action and power by asking ‘Where are we?, What is our vision?, and How do we move towards that?’

Move to Amend is a coalition of hundreds of organizations and hundreds of thousands of individuals committed to social and economic justice, ending corporate rule, and building a vibrant democracy that is genuinely accountable to the people, not corporate interests. We call for an amendment to the US Constitution to unequivocally state that inalienable rights belong to human beings only, and that money is not a form of protected free speech under the First Amendment and can be regulated in political campaigns.
