The uprising of organized labor over the past year has yielded several impressive victories that have improved the lives of workers. Hollywood writers and actors, UPS workers and United Auto Workers at the Big 3 automakers all won significant concessions. Organized workers continue to be active with 182 labor actions having taken place in 242 locations so far in 2024.
Labor is the only organized group that has consistently stood for worker's rights over corporate rule. Scores of economic, social and political justices have been championed by individual workers and organized working people who are members of labor unions -- sometimes working alone and other times in coalition with other organizations representing those who have been historically oppressed.
The root of labor power is people, while the root of corporate power is money and constitutional rights. Therefore, anything that can be done to reduce constitutionally the political power of money and corporate rights, the greater the effectiveness of “people power” (including workers) becomes.
Please consider attending a Labor Day event (i.e. parades, festivals, rallies, picnics) in your community to:
√ Show solidarity with working people and labor unions working for justice in many forms. This is especially important given the recent Supreme Court decision overturning the “Chevron doctrine” which could lead to the weakening of the authority of the National Labor Relations Board to protect workers. Support is also needed to expose the numerous anti-worker provisions of Project 2025, which could become a reality under a Trump administration.
√ Download and handout this flier – Expand Human and Worker Rights by Abolishing Corporate Constitutional Rights – that describes the direct inverse relationship between worker and corporate rights
√ Ask attendees to sign our Motion to Amend petition. Downloads copies HERE
Working people and labor unions need Move to Amend to help expand their campaigns and Move to Amend needs organized working people to be part of a democracy movement to enact the We the People Amendment and achieve justice and real democracy.
Solidarity,

You can also ask candidates running for local or state office this year or federal office next year to sign our Pledge to Amend as a means to increase people power over corporate power.
