Candidates Fighting Corporate Power

At Move to Amend, we are dedicated to ensuring that corporations and other artificial entities do not hold Constitutional rights, and that campaign spending can be regulated to limit the influence of money in politics. Our Pledge to Amend campaign seeks commitments from candidates for public office to support these crucial goals.

The Pledge to Amend states:

I support amending the U.S. Constitution to make clear that corporations and other artificial entities do not have Constitutional rights and that money is not speech and campaign spending should be limited through regulation. I will use my office to support the Movement to Amend the Constitution by passing resolutions, proposing legislation, and publicly speaking out about the need for this Amendment.

We are thrilled to have received support from a diverse group of candidates who have taken this pledge. By doing so, they commit to advancing the movement to pass H.J.R. 54, the We the People Amendment.

One such committed advocate is Congresswoman Cori Bush. Representing Missouri’s 1st Congressional District, Cori Bush has been a steadfast supporter of the amendment, standing up against powerful special interest groups. As she faces a tough re-election campaign with significant funding from AIPAC and other groups backing her opponents, it is crucial to support leaders like her who are willing to challenge corporate and dark money influences (Jewish Telegraphic Agency) (Mondoweiss).

However, this email isn't just about Cori Bush. It's about recognizing and supporting all candidates who have taken the Pledge to Amend. We invite you to check if there are candidates in your district who have signed the pledge. These are the leaders committed to reducing the outsized influence of money in politics and fighting for true representation.

Visit our Pledge to Amend page to see the full list of signers and find out if your local candidates are among them. By supporting these candidates, you help us push forward the critical mission of passing HJR 54 and achieving a real democracy.

Let's continue to build momentum together. Stand with us in supporting candidates who are real People champions and committed to the fight against corporate power.
