You've probably heard, our Spring Fundraising Drive has been extended to May 31st -- A long-time donor has offered an additional $5,000 match if we can raise the funds by the end of the month... And we are almost there!

The #WeThePeopleAmendment was introduced into the 117th Congress last week with 56 initial cosponsors -- we've never come out of the gate with these numbers before! While we celebrate, we still have a lot to do. It's critical that we keep up the momentum, to ensure that we make our 2021 goal of 100 cosponsors!

We can do it! But we need your help.

You might be wondering, "where does my money go?" 

This is not an exhaustive list, but here are some of the major elements that power a successful grassroots campaign:

• Payroll (we have a small national staff of 8 who support the hundreds of volunteer leaders doing the work on the ground)
  
  
• Database (it's costly, but it allows us to communicate with and organize Move to Amend supporters, including by their congressional districts -- which has been key in our success with HJR48 in this new Congress!)
  
  
• Other basic infrastructure (website, phone lines, video conferencing, PO Box, technology + supplies)

This might not seem like much, but neither is our budget.

Everything our coalition has accomplished over the past decade-plus has been on a 100% grassroots shoestring budget -- we don't get any corporate cash or large foundation money. While we are immensely proud of this, it also means we rely on (usually modest) donations from individual supporters who understand how important the #WeThePeopleAmendment is, if we are to ever realize genuine democracy in the United States.
