Move to Amend Tuscaloosa at "Meet Your Legislators for Lunch"
League of Women Voters of Greater Tuscaloosa invited MTA Tuscaloosa to "Meet Your Legislators for Lunch" highlighting proposed actions of the 2021 legislative session on January 14th 2021. Participants for the Zoom meeting were LVW board members and Legislators. The audience attended the Zoom call through Facebook.
Each legislator was given a chance to present key issues for the 2021 legislative session. The LWV moderator then asked some prepared questions submitted by community members. Among the 9 West Alabama legislators who were invited, Rep. Christopher England, Rep. Kyle South, and Rep. Bill Poole attended.

Resolution in Support of Move to Amend Tuscaloosa and 28th Amendment!
Move to Amend Tuscaloosa has been endorsed by the Tuscaloosa County Democratic Party since June of 2017! However, a copy of the full page resolution, signed by the Chairman Nicholas D. Rose, has finally come into our possession and we are excited to finally exhibit it via this link.

Move to Amend Tuscaloosa Invited to Participate on a Call With Senator Doug Jones
Move to Amend Tuscaloosa participated in a Zoom call with Senator Doug Jones, hosted by The Blue River Democrats, on August 2, 2020. He was introduced by Chris England, head of the State of Alabama Democratic Party. He spoke to a large group, took questions and suggested a few strategies for getting out the vote in the upcoming election. Senator Jones is running for re-election.

Blue River Democrats and Move to Amend jointly host speaker Jim Lawlor
On September 7, 2020 Tuscaloosa Affiliate and Blue River Democrats hosted speaker Jim Lawlor, expert in campaign finance. Jim explained that in his experience, the only way to correct abuses in campaign finance is through a Constitutional amendment. He was very positive about the work of Move to Amend and the 28th amendment to the Constitution.

Why I support Move to Amend
It's becoming clearer and clearer that corporations with their billions of dollars have power over our government and the people of this country are basically powerless. How can we say our country is a democracy? We must get our government back and the only way I can see this happening after the horrible Citizens United decision is through a constitutional amendment.
