The First of the 3 C's: Unveiling the "We the People" Preamble Replica

On Tuesday, September 19, we made a powerful statement by deploying a 30ft x 15ft wide replica of the US Constitution's 'We the People' preamble, generously lent to us by our allies at the Backbone Campaign.

This visual spectacle was positioned on the NW corner of Lafayette Park, right in front of the Chamber of Commerce, as we passionately chanted and called for the enactment of the We the People Amendment, (H.J.R. 54).

Our partnership with Get Money Out - Maryland strengthened our voice and amplified our message.

Additionally, our national co-director, Greg Coleridge, delivered a letter declaring the Chamber's and all corporations' illegitimacy as legal "persons" to lobby, invest money in elections, and overturn democratically passed laws.

The 2nd C: Rallying at the US Supreme Court 

On Wednesday, September 20, we gathered in front of the US Supreme Court to raise our voices and call for the enactment of the We the People Amendment, (H.J.R. 54).

Once again, we showcased the replica of the US Constitution to emphasize how the Supreme Court has, for over a century, wrongly applied the Bill of Rights and the 14th Amendment to corporate entities meant exclusively for human beings.

The 3rd C: Lobbying for Change 

Following both events, our dedicated participants lobbied with Move to Amend members of Congress to co-sponsor HJR54. We had three face-to-face meetings with Representatives, including HJR 54's lead sponsor, Rep. Pramila Jayapal, as well as Rep. Jaime Raskin and Rep. Veronica.

In total, we met with over 45+ congressional offices that we identified as potential co-sponsors or previous co-sponsors who have not yet sponsored in the 118th Congress.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who took the time to call their corresponding Representative's office, urging them to co-sponsor.
