This month, we are thrilled to highlight the incredible efforts of our MTA Alaska group and the ongoing initiatives to revive our presence in Chicago. Both regions are playing pivotal roles in advancing our mission and exemplifying the spirit of grassroots activism.
MTA Alaska: "Gaveling Down the Rabble" Discussion Group
MTA Alaska is spearheading an engaging initiative with an online book discussion group centered on "Gaveling Down the Rabble" by Jane Ann Morris. This series will explore the significant impact of the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution and how it has been used to undermine the powers and rights of citizens. The group has been meeting monthly for four months, starting August 14, 2024, with each session lasting one hour.
For those in the Anchorage area, there's an opportunity to meet in person to participate in these discussions. This event is open to all interested parties, and additional details, including login information for the discussions, can be obtained by contacting the Alaska affiliate at [email protected]. Extra copies of the book are available on our website.
Reviving Chicago’s MTA Presence
In Chicago, we are making strides to revive our local MTA affiliate group, particularly as we gear up for the Democratic National Convention. This revival effort is being led by a dedicated team of volunteers who are organizing rallies, setting up informational booths, and coordinating outreach efforts to ensure that the We the People Amendment receives prominent attention during the convention.
These volunteers are not just focusing on event logistics; they are deeply involved in building community connections and re-establishing a strong MTA presence in the area. Their work is crucial as they lay the groundwork for a renewed and vibrant MTA group in Chicago.
A heartfelt thank you to both the Alaska team and our volunteers in Chicago for their exemplary work. Your initiatives not only enhance our collective efforts but also inspire others across the nation to take bold steps toward tangible change in their communities. We are excited about the potential to fully reactivate our Chicago group with your continued passion and dedication.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to creating a true democracy of, by, and for the people. Together, in this journey with REAL PEOPLE, we can make a difference!
