Move to Amend's 14th Anniversary

14 years ago today..."a group of twelve dedicated organizers sat together in a living room, watching the proceedings of the Citizens United vs. FEC case. The impact of this pivotal moment was crystal clear – it was time to take action. Not just to reverse the disastrous decision that unleashed untold amounts of dark money into our electoral system, but also to address the more fundamental issue of corporate personhood, a problem that has plagued our democracy since the 1800s.

On that fateful day, October 20, 2009, Move to Amend was born."

Today is Move to Amend's 14th Anniversary! And, we want to thank you for sticking with us for 14 years -- building the movement for a Constitutional Amendment that would make clear that corporations are not people, and money is not free speech. And while there's still much work to be done, we are in it to win it!

History is clear that movements for deep-systemic change are a marathon, not a sprint.

In a political climate where it's increasingly clear that neither Republicans nor Democrats alone will bring about authentic fundamental changes, we recognize that it's the people who must lead the way and demand what we deserve. With one of the most challenging Supreme Courts in recent memory, the chances of fundamental change might seem slim, but that's where we come in.

Even on a small budget, our national team and coalition have achieved milestone after milestone each year.

In the 118th Congress, we currently have 71 Cosponsors - and we're on track to reach our 100-cosponsor goal by the end of the congressional session! (read our 2022 accomplishments here).

Our dedicated team members have stuck with Move to Amend through thick and thin, even during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. It's a testament to the passion and determination that drives us.

Now, we need your support more than ever. If you don't already donate, we invite you to support our work financially. We're asking for a commitment of $14 per month for the 14 years of Move to Amend or a one-time donation of $168

Your contribution, no matter the size, goes a long way in helping us achieve our goals.

Your financial support ensures that our team can continue to work tirelessly towards passing H.J.R. 54, the We the People Amendment, and challenging corporate rule.

We're confident that with your support, our passion, and our determination, we will get this amendment passed.

Thank you for being a part of our journey and for your continued support. Together, we can make history and bring about the democracy We the People so desperately need.
