August Recess: The Best Time to Meet Your Representative

Congress is home for the August District Work Period (recess), making this one of the best opportunities of the year to meet with your Representative face-to-face in their home district.

Members of Congress spend this time attending town halls, community events, and meeting with constituents. That means you have a unique opportunity to ask them to become a cosponsor of the We the People Amendment.

Whether you've met with your Representative before or this would be your first meeting, our team is ready to help you prepare. Even a small group of committed constituents can make a meaningful impact.

Democracy Starts With Participation

As election season continues, one of the simplest ways we can strengthen our democracy is by ensuring every eligible voter is prepared to participate.

Take a few minutes to:

• Confirm that you're registered to vote and that your registration information is up to date.
• If you're not yet registered, register through your state's official election office before your state's deadline.
• Encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to do the same.

An informed and engaged electorate is essential to building the political will needed to pass the We the People Amendment.

Great News: Over 203 Candidates Have Taken the Pledge to Amend so far

The movement continues to grow! More than 203 candidates for public office have signed the Pledge to Amend, committing that, if elected, they will use their office to advance the We the People Amendment.

As you research candidates and prepare to vote, be sure to see whether someone on your ballot has made that commitment.  You can view the complete list of pledged candidates here: https://www.movetoamend.org/pledge2025

If they haven't signed, reach out to them and ask if they support amending the Constitution to end corporate Constitutional rights and getting money out of politics. Click here for the link to send them the Pledge Questionnaire.

Building Power Across Communities!

People power takes many forms. This month, we’re celebrating advocates taking the We the People Amendment directly to Congress and into their local media, volunteers helping spotlight 203+ Pledge to Amend candidates—including 84 COURAGE candidates, grassroots leadership advancing election reform, and a growing coalition that has now reached 822 endorsing organizations.
