An intrepid city activist, Joe will explore the quid pro quo of campaign contributions from developers and other corporate entities in Columbus that in return receive tax abatements and city income tax exemptions. Learn about the adverse impacts of such agreements on affordable housing, educational opportunities, and efforts to fight poverty. While this session will focus on Columbus, Ohio, the issue is widespread throughout the U.S.
