This May Day, we face a crossroads. The power we built together through organizing, solidarity, and stubborn love for democracy is being tested like never before. For years, we’ve organized, educated, and grown - hundreds of thousands of Move to Amend supporters committed to ending corporate rule and to claim real democracy. But we have yet to exercise that power in full.

Just this month, the Trump administration announced it will pay nearly $1 billion of your tax dollars to French oil giant TotalEnergies - not to build clean energy, but to stop offshore wind projects off our coasts. They’re pulling that money from an account not even authorized for this use, a backroom raid on the public purse that benefits fossil fuel billionaires while our communities choke on pollution and struggle to pay rising bills
At the same time, the justice Department is going after our allies at the Southern Poverty Law Center, essentially, defending groups like the Ku Klux Klan and other white supremacist hate groups, while ICE continues its terror campaigns in immigrant neighborhoods - breaking up families, detaining workers, and suppressing dissent with an iron hand. Authoritarian power is consolidating through economic coercion and state violence.
But people power has always been the antidote to tyranny. When ordinary people stood together and refused to cooperate with injustice, they’ve shook empires.

The Haymarket workers of 1886 who struck for the 8-hour day. The Montgomery bus boycott that won dignity for millions. The Indian independence movement that broke the world’s most powerful empire with peaceful refusal. Solidarity strikes in Poland that helped bring down the Soviet bloc. Each act of noncooperation was a collective declaration: we will not fund, obey, or enable systems that exploit human beings. These victories remind us: when we act together, the machinery of oppression grinds to a halt. Now, it’s our turn! Move to Amend has always been dedicated to this principle, and we are proud to be 100% people-powered - no corporate donors, no PACs, no government grants. Every dollar comes from individuals and families like you who know democracy can never be bought. That independence allows us to tell the truth about power… and to act. But it also means that when times are dark, we depend entirely on your solidarity. |

We are organizing for the May Day Strong noncooperation actions - joining with allies demanding a genuine democracy. We’ll be on the streets, spending time with our families and online, refusing to fund or follow a system that sells our future for another quarter’s profit report. This is one of the most significant moments of mass mobilization in a generation. And momentum is growing, The Guardian just reported on the day of action. Hasan Piker will join Cori Bush to rally in St. Louis and the school district in Durham has cancelled school because so many teachers have requested leave to push their legislators to fund “kids over corporations”. Rallies, teach ins, and other actions are popping up in big cities, small towns, and almost every state. And we need you to show up in your communities and represent our vision for the future. A future of people Over Profits. No School. We have built the numbers. Now it’s time to use them. This is a moment for courage. Not as symbolism. This May Day, we call on all who refuse to live under corporate rule to join the noncooperation actions: to withdraw our consent from corrupt power, to stand in solidarity, and to demand a democracy that truly places people, planet, and peace over profit.
