The Constitution is a group project - and you're invited!

Join the Ultimate Civics team – Riki Ott and Lauren Smith – and Move to Amend for our first “CIVICS TALK,” a lively conversation on participatory democracy and constitutional learning.

Together, we'll share ideas for bringing the free, project-based Ultimate Civics curriculum to young people, educators, libraries, and community organizations. We'll also explore how Move to Amend affiliates can host engaging Constitution-focused activities that move beyond simply studying democracy to actively practicing it.

    Come ready to:

    • Discover fun, action-oriented civics lessons.
    • Brainstorm ways to connect with local educators and youth groups.
    • Imagine youth-led projects that bring democracy to life.

Whether you're an educator, organizer, parent, student, or simply passionate about building a democracy that works for everyone, your creativity and experience belong at the table.

Bring your ideas. Bring your curiosity. Bring a friend. Let's make engaging in democracy and learning about the Constitution bold, participatory, and impossible to ignore!

Defend the Vote, End Corporate Rule: Campus Voter Registration Training
Help students make their voices heard! Join Move to Amend for a Campus Voter Registration Training focused on the practical skills and resources needed to organize an effective, nonpartisan voter registration drive.

Defend the Vote, End Corporate Rule connects protecting our right to vote with building a democracy where people—not corporate power and big money—shape our future. Registering students is an essential step toward building that power, on campus and beyond Election Day.

    Participants will learn how to:

    • Plan and promote a campus registration effort
    • Engage students in meaningful, nonpartisan conversations
    • Navigate voter registration requirements and deadlines
    • Recruit volunteers and build lasting campus participation
    • Connect voter engagement with Move to Amend’s work to end corporate constitutional rights and money as speech

This training will help you turn civic engagement into action—and build a foundation for continued organizing after the votes are cast.
Join us and help empower the next generation of voters. Together, we can defend the vote, end corporate rule, and build a democracy that puts people first.

From Capitol Hill to Our Communities: People Power in Action

This month, our advocates took the We the People Amendment from congressional offices in Washington, D.C., to candidate campaigns in Ohio and Minnesota, the radio waves in Alaska, a public library in Georgia, and community struggles happening right in people's backyards.

Different places. Different tactics. One movement.

  • The calls are getting louder: get big money out of politics. Overturn Citizens United. Amend the Constitution

They’re calling for an amendment. Let’s make sure they know about ours

People with national platforms are saying what this movement has been organizing around for years: we need a constitutional amendment to confront big money in politics.

Jon Stewart, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, and Pete Buttigieg are bringing this conversation to large audiences. This is an opening we have worked years to create—and we need your help turning it into support for the We the People Amendment, H.J.Res. 54.

  • David Keith Cobb (December 24, 1962 – September 7, 2026)

David Cobb was one of a dozen democracy activists who launched Move to Amend in 2010, as well as helping build Democracy Unlimited of Humboldt County, from which it emerged. His work challenging corporate constitutional rights grew, in part, from his involvement with the Program on Corporations, Law & Democracy (POCLAD).

For years he traveled the country on MTA-organized “barnstorming tours” -- building power and educating others about the dangers of corporate rule. David was a tireless, spirited and passionate organizer in many arenas of work, dedicated to building a society rooted in true democracy and people power, not corporate power.
