Toward a People-Centered Democracy

I can't afford my own politician
June 11, 2014

Our country is under siege by corporations. The laws and the courts enable corporations and their wealthy shareholders to buy elections. Congress is broken, no longer representing the people who elected it. Not exactly a functioning democracy, is it? Remember the $16 trillion dollars in bailout money that was allocated to the corporations and banks? That’s equivalent to more than $53,000 for each of America’s 300 million citizens.

Move to Amend is a grassroots organization that is fighting back, targeting the systemic roots of this financial assault on our democracy.

The Constitution reads "We the People" not "We the Corporations." Yet, for 128 years the U.S. Supreme Court has said a corporation is a "person" with the same inherent rights that you and I have under the Constitution. For more on this, see the “Legalize Democracy” mini-documentary at:

Move to Amend is part of a people-centered democracy movement focused on transforming our government. The corporate person will be abolished with the passage of the "We the People" Amendment: When we secure this victory, we will have taken a huge step toward truly eliminating the corrupting influence of money from the political system.

There are many ways YOU can help make a difference.

We invite you to be a part of this historic movement by watching the Legalize Democracy documentary and asking friends and family to do the same. Imagine the impact on our country after this video is viewed and understood by tens of millions of citizens.
