To commemorate the ratification of our current Constitution 230 years ago, you have the opportunity to watch TWO free documentary screenings on September 17th!
In partnership with Move to Amend, the national independent news network Free Speech TV will be spreading the word of how corporations became "persons" and how they use their constitutional rights to undemocratic effect with two screenings of our mini-documentary Legalize Democracy and our collaborative film mashup Shadows of Democracy.
Legalize Democracy portrays the historic role of U.S. Courts in the meteoric rise of corporate power in American politics. Move to Amend's National Leadership Team documents the transformation of the corporation from an institution of public service, created and regulated by government, into an institution with the same constitutional rights as living people, and sufficient wealth to control and subvert a government by and for the people.
Shadows of Democracy is a collaborative film project between the producers behind the the documentaries The Corporation, Shadows of Liberty, and Legalize Democracy. We take the best of each of these three films into a short one-hour documentary highlighting the nature of corporate power, the absurdity of corporate personhood, and more about the grassroots movement to amend the Constitution to end corporate rule.
Want to take action after watching the films? Send your representative and senators a message to sign on to House Joint Resolution 48 -- the We The People Amendment!

Calling All Teachers: Join Move to Amend's Educator Caucus!
The school year is just getting started and we’re thinking a lot about teachers. Teachers are a vital part of building the world we want and deserve. Educators give us the facts and narratives that shape our understanding of the world, help us build tools to make our world a better place, and are an important part of creating new institutions. Teachers rock!
That’s why we’re building a Move to Amend Educators Caucus - a community of teachers who care about ending corporate personhood and money as speech. Corporate rule manifests everywhere - from what’s in our textbooks, to the funding our schools get, to our teaching standards.
We must take a stand against the corporatization of education and we need your help!
➤➤ If you’re interested in being part of the Move to Amend Educators Caucus, please let us know here!
And don’t forget about Constitution Day next month!
Each year, educational institutions which receive federal funding must provide programming about the US Constitution around September 17th, Constitution Day. This provides Move to Amend an opportunity to get involved with schools and make connections with educators, administrators, and students.
If you’re an educator who cares about the influence of corporations and big money in our government, we have resources to help you present the information to your students! We’ve created sample letters, timelines, teaching materials and exercises, and everything else you need to bring an honest and age appropriate analysis of corporate rule into your classroom or school at Constitution Day!

Share the Corporate Personhood Timeline at Your Next Event!
Getting ready for an upcoming house party for democracy? Preparing for a Constitution Day presentation? Want to educate your activist group about the history of corporate personhood? Help make the connection between personhood rights and privileges with Move to Amend's timeline of Personhood Rights!
This timeline is a great education tool to explain how corporations have used the legal system to gain constitutional "personhood rights" through court decisions and how people have organized to gain constitutional rights through amendments (with a few exceptions).
