A new analysis of post-election data from the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and other sources by the Ohio Public Interest Research Group (Ohio PIRG) and Demos shows that outside spending in the first presidential election since Citizens United lived up to its hype: new waves of “outside spending” were fueled by dark money and unlimited fundraising from a small number of wealthy donors. Tabitha Woodruff, Advocate for Ohio PIRG, will release the report during the Forum, after a number of speakers including Noelle Williams, the President of the Columbus NAACP; Brian Rothenberg, Executive Director of Progress Ohio; and Michael Greenman, Lead Coordinator for Move to Amend Central Ohio.
