Stetson Bennett will have a fresh look for Georgia’s national championship game Monday night against TCU.
He joined some Georgia teammates in visiting the barber on the eve of game day.
This is big news for some Bulldog fans who like to think Bennett has an added superpower with shorter hair.

ESPN’s Holly Rowe reported Bennett got a “high, tight fade.”

Bennett joined some teammates with a “buzzcut boys,” look back in preseason camp when some Bulldogs started calling him “Stequavious.”

“It was a thing before fall camp, some of the dudes were shaving their heads, I was like, 'We've got 11 days in a hotel, nobody's going to see me,' and so I did it,” he said. "I think (Xavian) Sorey came up to me and was like, 'Let me fade you up man,' and I said, 'Alright, you can.' So I let him, and was like, 'Oh, I kind of wear this well.' I had a necklace with it too. I'm sure my grandaddy is rolling over in his grave.”

Bennett said he played well in the rout of Oregon to open the season with the shorter hair “and then it seemed to be, when I didn't have it I started playing bad and when I did have it I played pretty good. So I started doing it for the big games, and then (in the SEC championship game against) LSU I just wanted to be me."

Now it's back to the short look as Georgia aims for a second straight national title.

Bennett was asked in New York in December when he was a Heisman finalist if he thinks he plays better with the fade.

"I purposely didn't get it for the SEC Championship Game because I was like, 'Well I don't want it to become a bit.'” Bennett said. “Thank goodness that's out of the way. But no, I thought it was cool. I always thought it was cool and the dudes loved it. So I might, who knows?”
