Jan. 27 - Genuine Progress Indicator (GPI) with Ken Pentel
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) fails to report the impact of non-market factors. The 42 factor GPI reports the value of household and volunteer work, and ecosystem support services while also measuring the costs of crime, pollution, sickness, and environmental degradation.
February 24 - Immigration, Detention, Deportation
In 2003, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) opened its doors in Minnesota. Short videos and discussions with local activists provide context for two key questions: What is ICE doing to detain and deport people? Who is profiting? March 23 - Food Production and Labeling
Small local farmers are on the frontlines of the climate crisis and out of control corporate power. This discussion will include organic labeling, glyphosate use, CAFOs, and new farming techniques in Minnesota. How do everyday people join the movement for improved land stewardship? What do our local farmers need from us in standing up to corporate power?
April 27 - Improved Medicare4All 101 with Bob Robbins
Vast networks of corporate power stand in the way of real change to our healthcare system. We will look at how healthcare for all Minnesotans could be delivered. Bob Robbins will give a 3 part presentation that covers: How People are Affected, The Provider / Patient Relationship and Financing.
