The Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games, commonly known as Lake Placid 2023, is a collegiate multi-sport winter sports event scheduled to be held from 12 to 22 January 2023 in Lake Placid, New York, United States.

The FISU World University Games are staged every two years in a different city. This celebration of international university sports and culture draws many thousands of student-athletes together to compete, making it among the world's largest and most prestigious multi-sport events.
In 2018, former Governor Cuomo announced that Lake Placid was selected to host the 2023 World University Games. New York State is proud to be hosting these games and looks forward to showcasing New York and the North Country to an international audience.
The World Games is an extraordinary, international sports event held every four years, in the year following each Summer Olympic Games.
The Universiade is attended by students of educational organizations that implement educational programs of secondary general, secondary vocational, higher education, as well as other interested persons aged 10 to 25 years.
Athletes must be Nordiq Canada members in good standing1 with a valid Canadian passport, a Nordiq Canada racing license, and a valid Canadian FIS license. 2.2 Athletes will not be officially named to a competition Team until eligibility requirements have been verified by Nordiq Canada.
