🏛️ Congressional update:

Even as the longest government shutdown in U.S. history continues, our movement refuses to stall.
While millions face uncertainty, and corporate lobbyists continue to collect their subsidies and access, the We the People Amendment (H.J.R. 54) keeps gaining ground.

We’re thrilled to announce two new Congressional co-sponsors, bringing our total to 67! 🎉

Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) – joined October 24, 2025
Rep. William R. Keating (MA-09) – joined October 24, 2025

Even amid dysfunction in Washington, more representatives are standing up for real change — proof that grassroots pressure works.

👉 Find Your Representative here and let them know you want them to cosponsor the We the People Amendment.

Together, we’re demonstrating that corporate money may influence Congress — but it doesn’t own us.

🥾 15th Anniversary of the Monahan Walk Across the U.S. — Minnesota Recap

On Sunday, November 2, the Minnesota Move to Amend team gathered at the East Side Freedom Library in Saint Paul to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the Monahan Walk Across the U.S. — a historic journey that helped launch the national call to end corporate personhood and money-as-speech.

In 2010, following the Citizens United decision, Laird and Robin Monahan walked 3,200 miles across the country to spark public awareness of the growing corporate influence over our political system. Their walk became the symbolic beginning of the Move to Amend movement, now over half a million supporters strong.

Sunday’s event honored that legacy with reflections, local organizing updates, and remarks from Sen. John Marty, who commended the Monahans’ courage and the movement’s persistence. Attendees celebrated the progress made in Minnesota — from city resolutions to state-level advocacy — and renewed their commitment to advance the We the People Amendment nationwide.

To mark the occasion, supporters contributed gifts in multiples of $15 for 15 years, helping sustain the grassroots work that began with two pairs of walking shoes and a vision for a truly people-powered amendment.

Government shutdowns can halt paychecks and services — but they can’t shut down people power.

While elected officials bicker, our grassroots movement grows stronger. Each new signature, each conversation, and each cosponsor brings us closer to passing the We the People Amendment.

Move to Amend has never relied on corporate PACs or billionaire donors. We rely on you — the people who believe that a functioning society should work for everyone, not just the wealthy few.

If you believe in that vision, please help us keep the lights on and the pressure on.=

Together, we are proving that no shutdown, no corporate lobbyist, and no billionaire can stop a people-powered movement.

Onward — until the impossible becomes inevitable.
