📣 Billionaires have the megaphones. We have the people — but we need to be LOUDER.

Move to Amend has a bold mission: pass the We the People Amendment (HJR 54) to end corporate constitutional rights and the false doctrine that money equals speech. Right now, we need to break through to a much bigger audience.

Many issues will never be fully resolved until this one is. We’re fighting dozens of battles: climate collapse, authoritarianism, income inequality, safe food, preserving social and economic safety net programs, gun safety – but none of these can be fully won while corporations have constitutional rights and unlimited money buys political power.

We’ve built a powerful grassroots movement over the years. Our effort is supported by over 520,000 individuals. More than 700 communities have enacted municipal resolutions or grassroots-initiated ballot initiatives, while more than 800 organizations endorse our campaign.

Most Americans already agree with us. They know the system is rigged in favor of corporations and billionaires. They want real democracy. But too many people still haven’t heard about the We the People Amendment or our mission to get passed.

We need urgently to break through to the “mainstream.” NOW is the time given the degree of clarity, pervasiveness and destructiveness of policies and programs harming people, communities and the natural world.

Do you know someone with a large platform, connections, or influence? Or know someone who knows someone? A prominent organizer, journalist, union leader, or even a celebrity who could help shine a spotlight on our movement. We’ve seen how one high-profile voice can bring tens of thousands of new people into the fight for democracy.

Think BIG:

Public figures like Robert Reich, Jane Fonda, Rosario Dawson, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Moore, Susan Sarandon, Steven Colbert and others who speak out on democracy and justice.

Musicians and artists who use their craft to call for change.

Writers, academics, and thought leaders who can articulate the urgency of ending corporate rule.

💡 How you can help right now:

1. Reach out directly to the prominent person you know. Inquire if they’d be interested in learning more about Move to Amend and our We the People Amendment campaign to end the corrupting influence of big money in elections and corporate rule. If they respond favorably, either…
   1. Ask if they’d be willing to publicly endorse our effort (examples of which could be to make a written statement or a short video).
   2. If you don’t want to directly respond, ask if someone from national Move to Amend could reach out to them to explore how they could publicly endorse our effort.
      
      
2. If you have a friend or close acquaintance who knows a prominent person - ask them if they’d be willing to reach out to that prominent person to inquire if they’d be interested in learning more about Move to Amend and our We the People Amendment campaign to end the corrupting influence of big money in elections and corporate rule.
   
   
3. If you are a regular follower on social media or subscriber on Substack of a prominent person (especially if you regularly comment) – let them know about Move to Amend and the We the People Amendment. Use hashtags like #WeThePeopleAmendment and #EndCorporateRule. Ask them to support the We the People Amendment campaign to end the corrupting influence of big money in elections and corporate rule.
   
   
4. Send us your connections. If you prefer not to directly contact the prominent person you know who might be willing to lend their name or time to the cause, email us the contact information of that person to [email protected]. That will only be effective, however, if we could use your name when following up. Of course, it would be far more effective if you were willing to contact that person yourself.
   
   
5. Of course, if YOU are a prominent person, please consider publicly endorsing our campaign! Send us a statement or short video. Contact us if interested in supporting us in other ways.
