CENTRAL OHIO: SPEAKING OF DEMOCRACY...A Short History of U.S. Woman's Suffrage

You are invited to join MTA-CO's Speaking of Democracy series. This session will consider U.S. Women's Suffrage and the Long Struggles for Justice: 70 years to pass; 100 years of enfranchisement.

Professor Michel Coconis will discuss high points of the struggle for women's right to vote. Following a short review of the history of U.S. woman's suffrage, we will consider the current struggle to amend the U.S. Constitution today that would remove personhood rights from corporations, thereby ensuring those rights, including universal suffrage, to all actual humans.

Additionally, this session will provide resources on voter outreach, registering voters, and helping people vote in this general election on or before November 3, 2020!

Please join us for a brief romp through women's suffrage history to underscore why elections matter now and why ending corporate personhood makes these elections and other civic engagement mattered even more.
