Why I support Move to Amend

If we really understand and cherish democracy of, by and for the people then the We the People Amendment is essential. If we believe in the dignity of all human beings then we must give them the power to create and participate in a democracy.  Having worked on social issues for many years with very little progress, it was an aha moment when I discovered Move to Amend and learned that the base on which our democracy purportedly stood was eroded by the courts that bestowed personhood to corporations and other legal entities, thus giving them US Constitutional rights. Without this amendment we cannot have a democracy in which the diverse, compassionate and problem-solving human people of this nation have all the seats at the table.

Signing the Pledge does not imply support from Move to Amend. Move to Amend does not support or endorse any candidates for office. This is an effort to inform the public about where their representatives stand. Efforts are made to give all representatives an equal opportunity to participate.

This pledge is available for elected officials and candidates at all levels - federal, state and local.

The We the People Amendment has been introduced in the House of Representatives as HJR 48. We will contact you if there is corresponding legislation relevant to your office, or to help you introduce legislation or resolutions if they have not been already introduced.
